Television · no app needed
There is no Freehit app for televisions, and nothing to sideload. The streams still reach a big screen in two ways: a browser on the TV itself, or your phone's picture mirrored to the TV. Pick whichever your TV supports.
Most smart TVs have one. Samsung calls it Internet, LG Web Browser, Amazon's Fire TV Silk. Android TV and Google TV sets often ship without one, and a browser from the Play Store fills the gap.
Type freehit.eu into the browser's address bar with the remote, then choose a match and a quality as you would on a phone.
Use the full-screen control on the video, or the browser's own full-screen option, so the picture is not boxed in by the page.
Open Freehit on your phone, as a website or from its home-screen icon, and get the stream playing.
Android: pull down the quick settings and tap Cast (Samsung phones call it Smart View), then pick the TV or the Chromecast plugged into it.
iPhone and iPad: open Control Centre, tap Screen Mirroring and choose the Apple TV or an AirPlay-capable set.
Both phone and TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
With the phone in landscape and the video full screen, the TV shows the match edge to edge. Keep the phone awake while it plays.
The TV browser shows the list but no video. Older sets cannot play this kind of stream in their browser. Mirror the phone instead.
The mirrored picture lags or stutters. Mirroring sends the whole screen over Wi-Fi. Move the phone nearer the router, or drop to a lower quality in the player.
There is no Cast or Screen Mirroring entry. The TV is not on the same network as the phone, or it does not support casting; a Chromecast or Apple TV adds that to any set with an HDMI port.
